Jake has been on stage since the age of 5.  Americana is probably the closest label for Jake’s “sound”. With influences in various areas including singer/songwriters, Country and Rock, 80’s Pop and 70’s classics… it would be hard to assign one genre to Jake’s style of music.  After 15 years of fronting the Tacoma based rock band, The Reaching, he is enjoying writing new material for a solo project while also playing solo gigs. He’s also excited to bring in some of his favorite artists to play in a rotating band for live concerts with him as those opportunities arise.  

“The songs are the most important piece of it all. Honest lyrics and melodies that are inviting and memorable.  The song commands more importance than what genre or style of label it should fall under. I grew up when you would hear Michael  Jackson, Def Leppard, LL Cool J, and Garth Brooks all on the same radio station in the same music block hour.  Genre existed, but it didn’t limit what we listened to or what influenced us.  It was all about how the song made you feel. That’s what’s important.”
